The aircrew involved with the recent publicity stunt filmed at Kid Rock‘s Nashville, TN mansion has been suspended according to NBC News. Rock, an outspoken conservative and friend of U.S. President Donald J. Trump, shared footage over the weekend on social media of two Boeing AH-64 Apache attack helicopters doing a flyby over his Nashville, TN mansion. Dubbed ‘The Southern White House’, Rock custom built that residence to mirror various architectural similarities of The White House.

Rock can be seen saluting and cheering at the choppers in the clip as they swooped in and hovered over the grounds of his property. The incident is said to have taken place this past Saturday, March 28th, with the same helicopters also reportedly being seen in the vicinity of the ‘No Kings’ protest that were staged in Nashville, TN that day. Those protests were part of an larger international protest largely aimed at the policies and actions of Trump and his administration.

Rock captioned the controversial video with a shot at his longtime opponent, Californian Governor Gavin Newsom, stating:

“This is a level of respect that shit for brains Governor of California will never know. God Bless America and all those who have made the ultimate sacrifice to defend her.”

Rock‘s post drew support from his fans, and ire from his detractors, many of whom questioned why U.S. taxpayers were footing the bill for what amounted to a publicity stunt for Kid Rock. Yesterday, March 30th, it was revealed that U.S. Army had opened an investigation into the apparently unscheduled flight deviation.

Today, March 31st, it was revealed that the aircrew involved have been suspended over the stunt. While Army officials have ruled the choppers appearing in the vicinity of the No Kings protest as being “entirely coincidental”, it would appear that was not the case for their actions at Rock‘s residence.

As of press time, the Army did not respond to NBC News‘ request for comment on the nature of these suspensions.

Update: March 31st, 2026 04:02pm:

Rock called in to local radio station WKRN about the matter, stating, “I think they’re [the pilots] gonna be all right. My buddy is commander in chief. I mean, what are they [the U.S. Army] looking into? They stopped seconds … a minute?”

U.S. President Donald J. Trump was also asked by Fox News today, March 31st, if he had seen the footage, he replied that he hadn’t, but offered: “I’m sure they had a good time.” Responding to reports that the aircrew involved have been suspended, Trump replied: “Well, they probably shouldn’t have been doing it, yes. You’re not supposed to be playing games, right?” He did add however, “They like Kid Rock. I like Kid Rock. Maybe they were trying to defend him. I don’t know.”
