While they went home empty-handed at the 2026 ‘BRIT Awards’ over the weekend, melodic hardcore stars Turnstile continue to rack up accolades and tributes from their fans and peers. Having won two GRAMMY Awards‘ earlier in the year, the Baltimore, MD natives have newly been given their flowers by Foo Fighters vocalist/guitarist Dave Grohl. Ahead of performing “My Hero” during a surprise Foo Fighters show at the O2 Ritz in Manchester, UK last Friday, February 27th, Grohl shared the following tribute to Turnstile [transcribed by theprp.com]:

“Tonight I’m gonna dedicate [‘My Hero‘] to a band who I think is great and who might be here tonight in the audience — I’m not sure. But I’m very happy, coming from an old school, hardcore punk rock background on the East Coast in Washington DC, our neighbors in Washington, DC were from a little town called Baltimore, Maryland — not far, it’s only 45 minutes. So whenever I see someone from Baltimore doing something really great and enjoying the successes of their hard-earned work, I like to shout ’em out. So I’m gonna… let’s dedicate this one to the fellas, and ladies, in Turnstile. Let’s give this one up for Turnstile.”

Turnstile‘s music continues to resonate with audiences far and wide, with the band earning praise from Sir Elton John, Charli XCX and many more.
