Project 86 have launched the crowdfunding campaign for their next album, “OMNI, Part 3“. If you haven’t been keeping tabs, this new entry finds the alternative metal band undergoing a metamorphosis. After previously calling it quits with a crowdfunded farewell tour and final album, vocalist Andrew Schwab ultimately decided to relaunch the band for this new entry in his “OMNI” trilogy.
There’s some notable changes being undertaken for this resurrection. Most notably the group will be operating under the newly adopted moniker of P86 OMNI in a bid to to better fall in line with the sci-fi tale and concept Schwab and co. will continue to explore with this twelve-song album. As for the concept for this upcoming record and accompanying book, the following was offered:
“In 2046 the OMNI corporation created a re-imagined Babylonian tower to pierce the sky. Their attempt to crack the firmament may have been thwarted, but the technocracy was far from dead. From the ashes of OMNI City, the next step in their plans for us is being executed…behind closed doors in dark corners of the web, ready to be unleashed on an unsuspecting populace. A small group of individuals collectively known as the Remnant have a plan, though: a Trojan horse to subvert the digital control that is coming for us all. Will they succeed, or will each of us succumb to digital, eternal enslavement? The pressure, as well as the stakes, escalate. This will be the next installment of the story…”
