The first-ever ‘Future Ruins‘ festival has unfortunately fallen apart. Nine Inch Nails duo Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross were behind that ultimately ill-fated fest. The event was intended to celebrate the scoring work of various composers in film and TV in a live capacity, and would have seen the aforementioned pair performing material from their award winning career in film scoring and composition.
Numerous other distinguished composers had also been booked for the event, including Danny Elfman, John Carpenter and more. However, while initially announced for November 08th at the Equestrian Center in Los Angeles, CA, that event has now been canceled just over a month ahead of its planned launch.
In a statement issued yesterday, October 03rd, via the festival’s social media, the following was said:
“Unfortunately Future Ruins will not move forward this year. The reality is, due to a number of logistical challenges and complications, we feel we cannot provide the experience that’s defined what this event was always intended to be. Rather than compromise, we’re choosing to re-think and re-evaluate. Meanwhile, we are sorry for any inconvenience and appreciate all the interest and support. Refunds will be automatically issued and ticket holders will receive an email with more information.”
