The controversy surrounding the warring camps amid the dissolution of Jesus Piece has had an ironic new twist. To catch you up, back in August the majority of the band proclaimed the group was “dead”. At the time, guitarist David Updike, guitarist John DiStefano and drummer Luis Aponte jointly condemned the actions of the group’s vocalist Aaron Heard in apparently attempting to continue on with the band under the name Je$us Piece. The aforementioned trio stated in part on social media:

“We are proud of everything we did and it changed our live forever. To try and continue that without us or in spite of us, is a mockery of what we’ve done and tried to do.”

Days afterward, Heard fired back at his former bandmates in a statement of his own, explaining his issues with them, while stating he intended to play a few shows with his new version of the outfit. His former bandmates issued heated response back at him, all of which you can find in the link mentioned above.

Amid all this, Heard‘s rebranded ‘Je$us Piece‘ were booked to play the ‘One Big Party‘ festival in Phoenix, AZ on October 25th as their first show. However, in a lineup update shared today, October 03rd, Show Me The Body have now replaced ‘Je$us Piece‘ on the bill.

It’s a somewhat ironic turn of events for Show Me The Body to be replacing Heard and his unannounced bandmates in that venture on the bill. Heard‘s initial statement on all the strife founding him accusing his former bandmates of, as he put it, “[trying] to replace me when they left me at the border on the Show Me The body tour.”
