The songs mentioned above in lower case indicate interlude inclusions. Today, August 28th, has seen the release of a cover of “Shattered Dreams“, the 1987 hit from British pop band Johnny Hates Jazz, making its way out to the masses from that record.

Speaking on choosing to cover yet another 80s hit on this record (the band also took on Tears For Fears‘ 1985 single “Head Over Heels“,) STARSET frontman Dustin Bates commented:

“For a long time, I’ve had it in my head that I could cover ‘Shattered Dreams‘ in a cool way that sounds fresh, heavy, and emotive, while still keeping what made it great. For that reason, it was on a very short list of covers I’d like to eventually do. I haven’t traditionally been very big on covers for this band, though, so I wasn’t in a real hurry to do it.

However, recently, I’ve started to become convinced that soon, anyone will be able to cover any song in any style with the use of AI. (It will take a while longer for it to write a great song on its own, but it will likely be able to cover songs well very soon.) So, it started to feel like now-or-never. That also explains why there are two covers on the album.”
