Avenged Sevenfold latest 10th anniversary plans for their seventh studio album, 2016’s “The Stage“, include special vinyl runs. Among those options are a standard 2-LP edition with a foil cover, a deluxe edition 4-LP set featuring the songs from the band’s ‘Capitol Records rooftop performance that took place to help launch that record, and a ‘Monolith’ box set. The latter consists of:
- The Stage: 10 Year Anniversary (2 x 180 gram black vinyl)
- The Stage Deluxe: 10 Year Anniversary (4 x 180 gram black vinyl)
- Live at the Grammys (1 x 180 gram black vinyl), available only in this set
- Blind box The Stage trading card, with 10 variants to find
- Holographic sticker
- Neil deGrasse Tyson’s speech, written out
- Star guide
- AI look back on what the band got right and wrong
There’s even more offerings to be found celebrating that anniversary over at a7xworld.com. Briefly commenting of this retrospective on the record, the band stated, “In 2016, ‘The Stage‘ asked what happens when intelligence outgrows the people who built it. A decade later, the question is no longer hypothetical.”
Ironically, the past week or two have seen Avenged Sevenfold guitarist/vocalist Zacky Vengeance face criticism for, as he put it, “fully embracing AI“, after utilizing it for cover art for the band’s annual Halloween cover of a Misfits track.
