Ozzy Osbourne has announced his final memoir, ‘Last Rites‘. That book is scheduled to arrive on October 07th through Grand Central Publishing and is expected to focus on the latter years of his life, including his mounting health issues that have forced him to retire from touring. Among those struggles are his battle with Parkinson’s disease and the aftermath of a 2019 fall which dislodged several steel rods previously surgically inserted in his body.

The Prince Of Darkness will also reflect on life story, his final moments with the late Lemmy Kilmister of Motörhead and more in the book. The tome is also expected to find him reflecting on this past weekend’s ‘Back To The Beginning‘, an all-star live extravaganza held in Birmingham, UK that served as the final curtain call for Ozzy‘s live career as well as that of his legendary heavy metal pioneering outfit Black Sabbath. That concert, which also featured performances from Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, Slayer and many more, raised over $190 million for charity.

Ozzy commented of the book:

“People say to me, if you could do it all again, knowing what you know now, would you change anything? I’m, like, fuck no. If I’d been clean and sober, I wouldn’t be Ozzy. If I’d done normal, sensible things, I wouldn’t be Ozzy. Look, if it ends tomorrow, I can’t complain. I’ve been all around the world. Seen a lot of things. I’ve done good… and I’ve done bad. But right now, I’m not ready to go anywhere.”

Pre-orders are available now via hachettebookgroup.com. In other charitable news, Osbourne has also revealed his involvement in a new charity auction that will raise money for Save The Chimps. Osbourne is offering up five pieces he painted, which have since had additional brushstrokes added by chimpanzees housed at the Floridian animal sanctuary overseen by the aforementioned organization. Ozzy said of that:

“I paint because it gives me peace of mind, but I don’t sell my paintings. I’ve made an exception with these collaborations as it raises money for Save The Chimps, a sanctuary for hundreds of apes rescued from labs, roadside zoos and wildlife traffickers.”

His wife and longtime manager Sharon added:

“Chimps are our closest relatives in the animal kingdom, and I’m really proud of Ozzy for helping look after them. These paintings will not only raise much-needed funds for the sanctuary, they’ll help promote awareness to the public.”

You can bid on the pieces in question through Omega Auctions.
