Among those championing the return of multi-platinum shock rocker Marilyn Manson in recent years is his current touring bassist Matt “Piggy D.” Montgomery. The latter formerly played with Rob Zombie from 2006 to 2024, before joining up with Manson for his ongoing musical comeback that was launched last year.
Manson‘s career was derailed by a wave of troubling allegations made by over a dozen women amid the pandemic era, with a number of those claims making their their way to court via civil lawsuits. Authorities themselves investigated Manson over the various claims, but declined to press charges. While many of those cases have now been settled, the divisive musician still has several legal matters related to the allegations to attend to.
Montgomery previously sung the praises of the now sober Manson this past April, hailing him for his path to sobriety after years of battling substance abuse. In a newly conducted interview with Radioactive MikeZ for KCAL 96.7, Piggy D. once again stood up for Manson, stating:
“He’s amazing. His focus is sharp and he is an inspiration to people; he really is. And I’m proud to stand next to him, because I think he’s representing hard. And as somebody that’s been in and out of sobriety over the years, it’s amazing to see somebody turn their life around. It’s always an amazing story. It doesn’t matter who they are. It’s always an amazing story. The miracle is never lost on me. You put a microphone in front of it, you can do some good. And it’s cool.”
