Bassist Piggy D.: "Who Would've Thought Marilyn Manson In 2024 Or 2025 Would Be A Ray Of F*cking Sunshine?"

Bassist/vocalist Piggy D was among the latest recruits to the touring roster for Marilyn Manson‘s backing band last year. Formerly of Rob Zombie fame, Piggy D took up with Manson during the latter’s attempt to relaunch his musical career in 2024. That comeback came about following numerous disturbing allegations and civil lawsuits being launched against the shock rocker.

While Manson has managed to settle much of the legal action leveled against him in recent years, the court of public opinion seemingly has yet to reach a definitive verdict. Regardless, it has been noted that his return has found him sounding better live and looking healthier. According to the man himself, he celebrated four years of sobriety this past January.

During a recent appearance on David Ellefson‘s (ex-Megadeth, etc.) ‘The David Ellefson Show‘, Piggy D. remarked on the change he has seen in Manson since rejoining, stating:

“As someone who’s been in and out of the program myself over the last 25 years, it’s powerful to witness that kind of miracle again—especially with someone like him. I’ve kind of been joking for the past year, like… who would’ve thought Marilyn Manson in 2024 or 2025 would be a ray of fucking sunshine?

But honestly, it’s amazing. We did a bunch of tours with his band over the years when I was with Rob, and I’d quietly say a little prayer for him. Like, if he could just redirect all that energy in the other direction—man, he could move mountains.”

In addition to returning to the road last year, Manson also released his comeback album “One Assassination Under God – Chapter 1“. He continues to tour on the back of that this year, with the following runs lined up:
