Converge began performing as-yet unreleased material from their long-awaited new album during their touring earlier this month. Now fan-filmed footage of one of those tracks, “W.W.N.T.S.” has gone up online, as played during the band’s May 10th set at the Lincoln Factory in Detroit, MI. If you’re curious what the band are hinting at with that abbreviated title, the phrase “we were never the same” is repeatedly uttered during the song.
Fans of the influential metalcore band have impatiently waiting for band’s tenth studio album, with the last proper Converge album, “The Dusk In Us“, having arrived back in 2017. Recording sessions for this new record commenced earlier this year, with the group having been written some 27 new songs in advance. As of yet, it’s unclear as to how many will actually make it onto the album. Converge‘s future live activities at the moment include the following shows:
