Platinum-certified hard rockers Pop Evil have reimagined the 1985 Simple Minds hit “Don’t You (Forget About Me)“. That song was perhaps best known for its association with that year’s hit coming-of-age film ‘The Breakfast Club‘. This first-ever cover release from Pop Evil follows a previous ‘unleaded’ performance for SiriusXM Octane. Vocalist Leigh Kakaty commented:
“There is such a special story connected to this piece for so many people worldwide. What started off meaningful as one thing, when they were young, now holds a much deeper weight. It’s tied to an entire lifetime of choices, experiences, and moments. We are shining a light on a new way of discovering these lyrics and asking the deepest of questions. A question we all ask: ‘Will we be remembered?'”
This rendition is taken from their upcoming live acoustic EP, “Unleaded“, due out May 30th. That set was captured at a set Cult Of Personality in New York City, NY. Frankie Nasso directed the below video for it.
