As Oceano‘s planned farewell tour ran aground last week due to controversy over allegedly lifted artwork for its admat, the outgoing deathcore band have faced some new criticism from someone familiar to social media drama: Attila vocalist Chris Fronzak.
Upon being announced Attila‘s upcoming ‘America’s Rejects Tour‘ last fall, Oceano were met with a wave of backlash. Angry fans on social media proclaimed the booking was problematic, citing past allegations of sexual misconduct and more made against members of Attila (see here & here) and one of the tour’s opening acts, Dealer (see here.)
Faced with growing criticism for accepting the direct support slot on the tour despite the aforementioned allegations, Oceano dropped off the bill, with their vocalist Adam Warren announcing his decision to end the band.
At the time, Fronzak himself brushed off Oceano‘s exit from the tour, but it would appear he couldn’t resist taking a shot at Oceano for their latest fiasco. Speaking across some posts on social media yesterday (February 23rd) and today, Fronzak stated:
Usually when you're in a band you wanna "go out with a bang". Looks like Oceano wanted to go out with a "shit in my pants".

Fronzak later replied to a fan regarding bands dictating their actions in response to backlash from “weirdo liberal people on twitter”, offering:
EXACTLY. Twitter is not real life, far from it. The shit people say on here has absolutely zero affect on my life and how many tickets I will sell for our upcoming tour.

The latest round of drama regarding Oceano and the uncredited admat has seen openers See You Next Tuesday drop off that planned farewell tour. Oceano have also scrubbed their own social media in the wake of the controversy.
