Once a fixture of the nü-metal scene, bassist Reginald “Fieldy” Arvizu has remained absent from the roster of Korn for years now, after originally having stepped down back in 2021 to address his “bad habits.” While his original exit statement led to some fan concern, Fieldy would later clarify that the “bad habits” he mentioned were not drug-related.

With Fieldy remaining on the sidelines, his bandmates in Korn would go on to recruit Ra Díaz of Suicidal Tendencies fame as their live bassist, a role he has held since. Fieldy‘s musical output meanwhile has been confined to his own band Stillwell.

Despite not having joined up with his Korn bandmates in several years, Fieldy remains listed a member of the influential Bakersfield band, even if his relationship with them remains somewhat estranged.

Appearing on a newly released episode of the ‘Basement Talk‘, Fieldy was asked what his current relationship with the band is, While the specifics remain hazy, he did reveal that he has not kept in touch with the guys, stating [transcribed by theprp.com]:

“I haven’t talked to those guys since 2019. We just kinda both…. They’re truckin’. They’re a machine, they’re going. It’s insane. It’s dope that they can keep on going like that.”

When asked if “it was all love” between him and the rest of Korn, he replied, “Yeah. It’s cool to see them keep on going. I’m like, I need to chill, I’m just kickin’ it.”

At the start and end of the podcast, Fieldy also gave the show’s hosts a tour of his home, his studio and more. Further on the discussion, he revealed that he has another book in the works and remains passionate about painting and making music.

Elaborating a bit on his plans for the latter, he announced that the lineup of Stillwell, which includes himself, P.O.D. drummer Noah “Wuv” Benardo and vocalist/guitarist Q-Unique, are in the process of rebranding with a  and beefed up lineup. He stated of that:

“We’re doing music with — well it was Stillwell — but we’re redoing everything. It’s gonna be heavier, more like what the people want. You know cause you got Wuv from P.O.D., you got me, Q on vocals. Vladimir on the keys right here, Jamie on guitar, Rob on guitar, so we’re a five-piece now. It’s heavy. It’s dope, I’m excited about it.”
