Nü-metal/alternative metal stars Disturbed won’t just be celebrating 25 years of their 5x platinum-certified debut album “The Sickness” on the road this year. The group have now announced a March 07th release for an elaborate new box set edition of that album.
In addition to the original record, that set is completed by a pair of previously unreleased early 2000s live sets and an assortment of b-sides, demos and rarities. Select editions will also feature a new booklet sporting interviews and more with members of the band and the album’s producer, Johnny K.
This celebratory edition of “The Sickness” will arrive in several different formats, including a 1-LP/3-CD box set, which in addition to the 40-song collection, also boasts the new booklet, a poster, a cloth patch, a backstage pass, a set of guitar picks and an exclusive lithograph signed by the band.

Newly emerging online from that set is an updated mix of “Glass Shatters“, which previously served as an entrance theme for WWE Hall Of Famer ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin. Coinciding with the announcement of this new edition of “The Sickness” is a new round of multi-platinum and gold singles certifications for songs from it.
All four singles originally released from that album received certifications today (January 17th) from the RIAA for sales/streaming performance in the United States. Lead single “Stupify” has just been certified gold, platinum and 2x platinum. The album’s second single “Down With The Sickness“, hit 8x platinum status, having last been certified platinum back in August of 2009. The record’s respective third and fourth singles, “The Game” and “Voices” also both notched up gold status.
A platinum album/single in the United States represents 1,000,000 units, while gold signifies 500,000 units. Outside of traditional physical/digital sales, the certifications factor in digital streams/downloads with 10 permanent track downloads counting as 1 unit and 1500 on-demand audio/video streams from a particular album also counting as as a unit.
