Comedian Nikki Glaser hosted last night’s 82nd annual Golden Globes Awards ceremony and during the event, made a casual joke about acclaimed 77-year-old actress Glenn Close fictitiously having previously played drums for Armenian-American nü-metal stars System Of A Down.
At least one member of the band took to social media to react to the seemingly unprompted mention, with guitarist/vocalist Daron Malakian having the following to say about it:
“Bet you didn’t know!!!!Bet you didn’t know!!!!!Somewhere between our first drummer and John, Glenn Close was tearing shit up on the drums for us!!!!!!#soad#systemofadown#glennclose#dmsob#scarsonbroadway”
System Of A Down did in fact actually have a drummer prior to John Dolmayan however, as Andy Khachaturian previously sat behind the kit for the group. He most notably went on to form The Apex Theory, among other ventures.
