One of the most notable stories from the rock world in 2024 was the onstage implosion of Jane’s Addiction. Just months into a reunion tour involving the primary players from the multi-platinum alternative rock band’s classic era, tensions boiled over onstage, with vocalist Perry Farrell physically charging and swinging at guitarist Dave Navarro.
Apparently, the issues leading up to the situation had been simmering for months at that point. Farrell‘s struggles to perform live were seemingly the flashpoint for the fiasco, with his wife later blaming his issues on suspected medical issues. To that extent, she later revealed that Perry had booked appointments with an otolaryngologist (a doctor specializing in issues of ears nose and throat) and a neurologist.
In a post shared yesterday, January 03rd, the band’s now once again former bassist Eric Avery has revealed that he has been writing to drum parts provided by his ex-Jane’s Addiction bandmate in Stephen Perkins. What’s more, he also teased that Navarro is set to lay down his parts over the music. Avery stated:
“Writing some more new lines to some of Stephens drumming. Look forward to getting some Mr Navarro on them. 2025! @stephenperkinsdrummer @davenavarro”
