Sanguisugabogg's Devin Swank To Donate Proceeds From Controversial 'Free Luigi' Shirt To Charities Aimed At Assisting With Healthcare-Related Debt

Sansuigsugabogg vocalist Devin Swank riled up the masses earlier this week with the release of a ‘Free Luigi’ shirt. The graphic on that garment alluded to the recent assassination of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, and the man charged with murdering him, Luigi Mangione.

The shirt itself added some Nintendo lore into the mix, depicting the incident via a hooded Luigi from the Super Mario Bros. franchise gunning down a slumped over Bowser, who is often the main villain of the Super Mario Bros. games. Driving the point home further, Bowser was illustrated as wearing a business suit.

As of press time, that shirt is still available to pre-order through deadasshirts.bigcartel.com up till this coming Monday, December 16th. While Swank initially brushed off the shirt as a joke, he seemingly didn’t make any bones about his own feelings, telling one offended commenter on X about the shirt, “Sorry you bow to oligarchs and fat pocketed CEOs who have no moral regard for you or anyone you know and love. Also it’s a joke, but people seem to forget what jokes are”

Speaking on the matter today, December 13th, Swank revealed that the proceeds from the shirt will go towards two healthcare-related charities that aim to ease the burden of medical debt. Here’s what he had to say about that:

“…Thank you guys for your orders while I get everything set up I wanted everyone to know not only is this design purely out of comedy and not advocating any side of the matter I wanna give back and let people know that the money being spent on these will go to actual good use and that I will be giving back and supporting 2 organizations with an equal donation that helps people receive healthcare and not get buried by the burden of medical debt

Undue Medical Debt – A nonprofit organization that’s rated 4/4 Stars on Charity Navigator with a mission to buy and erase the medical debts of everyday people, freeing them from bills they can’t afford

Patient Advocate Foundation – A nonprofit organization rated 4/4 stars on Charity Navigator with a mission to safeguard patients with chronic, life-threatening and debilitating diseases by effectively meditating issues related to access to care and preserving their financial stability

Nobody should be denied medical help or be in a heaping pile of debt just to be able to stick around in life and that’s something I think everyone can agree on.

I’ve posted links in my Linktree to donate to both of these organizations even if you wish to order a shirt or not”
