The physical release of Ghost‘s feature-length film debut, ‘Rite Here Rite Now‘ has been delayed by a week due to production issues. That film helped further along the narrative featured throughout the band’s ongoing chapters web series, pairing it with live concert footage from a September 2023 set the band played at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, CA.
The platinum-certified Swedish metal band’s own mastermind Tobias Forge co-directed that feature alongside Alex Ross Perty. According to the band’s camp, a small production error pushed back to release date from 06th to the admittedly more fitting, Friday, December 13th. Speaking tonight (December 02nd) the band stated:
“[MESSAGE FROM THE CLERGY]
We wish to inform you that delayed gratification is often more satisfying for those with the personal fortitude to accept it. Unfortunately, a minor package assembly issue on the RITE HERE RITE NOW Blu-Ray/4K/DVD was detected at the plant and promptly addressed. However, it did cause a short delay in production that now requires a release date one week later than we had initially planned for.
So RITE HERE RITE NOW will officially and fittingly be released on Friday, the 13th of December. One additional week is a short speed bump on the road to eternal film salvation.”
The film had its debut in cinemas this past June and managed to gross over $5 million worldwide. This Blu-ray/4K/DVD release will feature several extras, including a Q&A with Forge, Perry and Jim Parsons, who served as the director for the live concert portion of the shoot. The previously released video for “The Future Is A Foreign Land“, and 28 chapters of the band’s webisode series will also be included, along with digital access to the film.
