Ghost Uncover Their Lost ‘1969-Era’ Track “The Future Is A Foreign Land”

Ghost are looking to the past with a newly unearthed ‘1969-era’ track, “The Future Is A Foriegn Land“. That so-called early era of the platinum-certified Swedish arena rockers previously found the band much success, with the song “Mary On A Cross” going viral on TikTok, and ultimately earning the band their first-ever U.S. platinum certification in September of 2023.

If you’re following the band’s canon, Ghost were fronted by a younger Papa Nihil at that time, with a remastered collection of material from that ‘era’, “Seven Inches Of Satanic Panic“, having arrived back in 2019. Ghost also commemorated their late 60s era with an exhibition last year.

This latest trip into the vaults has seen a release presumably as part of the upcoming soundtrack to the band’s new feature film, ‘Rite Here Right Now‘. That film began screening in theaters worldwide this week, with its official motion picture soundtrack set to follow on July 26th.

The aforementioned film combines footage captured during a pair of sold out shows at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, CA that took place back in September of 2023, with a continuation of the ongoing narrative the Tobias Forge-led group have built up for the band over the years. The group kept it brief on the origins of this latest cut, stating:

“We wish to inform you that 3 is the magic number. Listen to a newly uncovered 1969-era Ghost single ‘The Future Is A Foreign Land‘ from the original motion picture #RITEHERERITENOW”
