Adventurous progressive metal band Dreamwake have signed a deal with UNFD. The Connecticut-based quartet have issued a video for their song “Heatwave” to mark the signing, with the track ambitiously incorporating sax, synth, riffs and more for a concoction they call ‘wavecore’. Opening up on what inspired them to pen this track, the band offered:
“‘Heatwave‘ is about that feeling of nostalgia when you look back on life and realize things will never be the same. It’s about those moments when you’re stuck in the same place but everything around you feels different, and you can’t help but long for how things used to be.
The song reflects that bittersweet tension of trying to hold on to the past while also knowing it’s time to let go. It’s a reflection on change, growth, and the acceptance that moving forward often means leaving something behind. Ultimately, it’s about embracing that shift and finding peace in the next chapter.”
As for landing a deal with UNFD, they commented:
“We’re beyond excited to finally share ‘Heatwave’ with the world. Having the opportunity to work with a great label like UNFD is truly an honor. Their belief in our music and vision means the world to us, and we’re grateful for the chance to reach even more people-both our loyal supporters and those discovering us for the first time. We’re pumped for what 2025 has in store, and can’t wait to take this next chapter together.”
A holiday headlining show with Sentinels, Crush, Knifedance, Rose Lane & Devitalized has been booked for December 13th at the Palladium in Worcester, MA.
