Young guitar prodigy Maya Neelakantan continues to wow audiences (and judges) on ‘America’s Got Talent‘. The now 11-year-old musician turned heads with her talent early on, garnering support and praise from the likes of Tool‘s Adam Jones and Exodus/Slayer, etc. guitarist Gary Holt.
Both of those musicians were involved in a way with her successful audition on the talent show. Not only did she perform Papa Roach‘s “Last Resort“ on a guitar personally gifted to her by Adam Jones during her debut on the show, she also had Holt sitting in as her guitar tech.
While Holt wasn’t present for her latest appearance — a live cover/medley of the title track to Metallica‘s “Master Of Puppets” for the quarterfinals of the talent show — Holt did catch the broadcast at home, sharing:
“What an awesome night last night, watching @mayaneelakantan crush it!!! @lisaholt777 and I couldn’t make it this time( way too much going on at once here, couldn’t get away!) but somehow we made it anyway, so to speak! We were very surprised to see the home visit in your segment!! Most likely the first time a Baphomet painting has been seen on AGT let alone an inverted cross guitar!! Maya! You ruled!!! So awesome!”
