10-year-old guitar prodigy Maya Neelakantan was among the numerous hopefuls to audition on yesterday’s (June 25th) episode of ‘America’s Got Talent‘. The aspiring musician performed a cover of Papa Roach‘s 2000 hit “Last Resort” on the program, shredding through the song on what appears to be the very signature guitar Tool‘s Adam Jones personally gifted her back in 2022.
Neelakantan shouted out both Jones and Exodus, etc. guitarist Gary Holt as inspirations among her now viral audition. Her impressive chops have already seen her rub shoulders with a number of famous metal musicians, with Holt also previously gifting her a guitar and taking her under his wing. As Holt revealed, he also served as a guitar tech for Neelakantan during this audition.
