Southampton, UK-based crossover band Grove Street have put out their new single, “Divided Kingdom“. Guitarist Chris “Sandy” Sanderson offered some insight into the lyrics for the track, stating:

“[It’s] about being ashamed and embarrassed of the place you’re from, because of the way it’s run and what it’s become. The initial inspiration came during our first tour in Europe after Brexit had gone through: as we were driving between shows we noticed we were getting a lot of people flipping our van off because of the GB plate, as well as getting a lot of comments from people acting like we’d personally pushed Brexit through.

The divisions in this country are so stark now, worse than ever in our lifetime, thanks to the culture wars stoked by our so-called leaders and social media clickbaiters, who fuel real world hatred for money and ‘engagement’.”

Later this month the group will be out across the UK with Inhuman Nature and Overpower on the ‘Crossover Assault Tour‘, dates for that run as follows:

07/25 Manchester, UK – Star & Garter
07/26 Birmingham, UK – Devils Dog
07/27 Leeds, UK – Boom
07/28 Nottingham, UK – Old Bud Depot
07/29 Newcastle, UK – Think Tank
07/30 Glasgow, UK – Attic
07/31 Bristol, UK – Exchange
08/01 Chester, UK – The Live Rooms
08/02 Milton Keynes, UK – Craufurd Arms
