Bad Omens Land Their Second Gold Single In The United States

Fresh off of a breakout year that saw their 2022 track “Just Pretend” certified gold in the United States, Richmond, VA alternative metal band Bad Omens have newly landed another industry accolade. The title track to their third studio album, “The Death Of Peace Of Mind“, has just received a gold certification of its own in the United States. The RIAA announced that certification today, January 11th.

That song arrived as the third official single from the record it shares its name with. It was the record’s second single, “Just Pretend“, that catapulted Bad Omens‘ career to newfound heights, having gone viral on TikTok with the band reaping the rewards of that heightened interest soon afterwards. Since then they have graduated to headliners on their own right and have sold out numerous shows across the U.S.

A platinum album/single in the United States represents 1,000,000 units, while gold signifies 500,000 units. Outside of traditional physical/digital sales, the certifications factor in digital streams/downloads with 10 permanent track downloads counting as 1 unit and 1500 on-demand audio/video streams from a particular album also counting as as a unit.
