Alternative metal faction Bad Omens landed their first-ever double platinum certification in the United States this month. The band’s 2022 song “Just Pretend” continues to rack up awards for the group, having gone viral several years ago on social media platform TikTok. The resulting interest pushed the song to gold status back in July of 2023. By April of 2024, the song had hit platinum, and now just over two years later, it has landed double-platinum status.

In the time since, the band have also racked up a host of gold certifications, including one for their third album “The Death Of Peace Of Mind“, while that album’s title track, as well as “Like A Villain” and “Limits” has also gone gold.

*A platinum album/single in the United States represents 1,000,000 units, while gold signifies 500,000 units. Outside of traditional physical/digital sales, the certifications factor in digital streams/downloads with 10 permanent track downloads counting as 1 unit and 1500 on-demand audio/video streams from a particular album also counting as as a unit. 150 streams of a song also equate to a track-equivalent unit.
