Pop superstar Cher has filed for a temporary conservatorship of her son Elijah Blue Allman. Billboard.com. The 77-year-old had Elijah with the late Gregg Allman of The Allman Brothers Band.

The 47-year-old Elijah has long-served as the vocalist/guitarist, etc. for industrial goth rockers Deadsy, who were signed to Korn‘s Elementree Records imprint label back in the early 2000s. That band had previously vowed to release a new album titled “Subterfuge” back in 2021, though it has yet to surface.

This past Tuesday, December 26th, Cher filed a petition to establish a temporary conservatorship of Elijah in a Los Angeles Super Court. Per her complaint, she seeks to temporarily be established as the sole conservator of Elijah‘s estate, due to what she claims are current mental health and substance abuse struggles being suffered by Elijah.

Cher‘s petition described the situation as follows:

Elijah is entitled to regular distributions from the Trust, but given his ongoing mental health and substance abuse issues, petitioner [Cher] is concerned that any funds distributed to Elijah will be immediately spent on drugs, leaving Elijah with no assets to provide for himself and putting Elijah’s life at risk. Elijah is currently unable to manage his finances and the distribution of funds directly to Elijah would not be in his best interests.”

Recent posts shared by Elijah on his Instagram have seen him adding the hashtag of “#imprisonmentviaconservatorship” to his posts.
