SeeYouSpaceCowboy have returned with a new single by the name of “Chewing The Scenery“. The sasscore band recorded the song with producer Matt Squire (Underoath, Sum 41), with it being the first new music they have shared since their 2021 sophomore album, “The Romance Of Affliction“.
Vocalist Connie Sgarbossa took to commenting on this new track as follows:
“This is one of the first songs we wrote when we locked ourselves in a Cabin in the Poconos to figure out what we wanted to do with the sound of SYSC moving forward.
Somehow me saying I wanted a Waltz part in a song turned into this expansion of the chaotic post hardcore sound we had done on The Romance of Affliction but with sprinkles of new ‘brighter’ elements we wanted to sprinkle into the new songs that we were making.
This track served as a proof of concept for the beginning of playing around with whatever we wanted to and showed us that we can push without the confines of genre and style and still create something that sounded cohesive.”
“Lyrically this song reflects the melodrama and conflict of relationships but recontextualized as a theatrical play you are putting on for the world. It deals with the debate about whether love can be just bliss and happiness, or if you have to acknowledge and accept the pain and frustration that can and most likely will accompany it, as well as dealing with that realization.”
The band will be direct support to nothing, nowhere. on the below summer/fall tour. Static Dress and UnityTX will also appear on that run.
