Using data compiled from their Boxscore archives, Billboard have compiled an updated list of the top 10 highest grossing tours from data they have collected. Boxscore itself has been in place for close to four decades, charting the attendance, gross and more of nearly every major tour since.
Several hard rock tours managed to place among the very top of their charts, including Aussie powerhouse AC/DC and hard rock legends Guns N’ Roses.
Coming in at #9 was AC/DC‘s “Black Ice” world tour, which ran from 2008-2010. Across 107 shows, that run drew an audience of 2.8 million and a gross of $442 million dollars.
Guns N’ Roses‘ partial reunion trek, the ‘Not In This Lifetime… Tour‘, notched up the #4 spot on the list. Running from 2016 to 2019, that trek drew an audience of 5.4 million across 158 shows. The gross of the run wound up at an estimated $584 million.
