Foo Fighters To Replace Pantera At 2023 ‘Rock im Park’ & ‘Rock am Ring’ Festivals

Chart-topping hard rocking outfit Foo Fighters have been booked to replace Pantera at this year’s ‘Rock im Park‘ and ‘Rock am Ring‘ festivals. The Texan groove metal legends were recently removed from the bill amid public outcry and political pressure. The controversy stems from the past actions of Pantera frontman Phil Anselmo.

During a 2016 performance at the then annual ‘Dimebash‘ event, which celebrated Pantera‘s late guitarist Dimebag Darrell Abbott, Anselmo, was filmed onstage doing a racist gesture while uttering the phrase ‘white power’.

Anselmo would eventually apologize for his actions that night, giving this interview explaining his side over a half a year later. In 2019, Anselmo would go on to describe his actions on that night as being a “an off-color joke.”.

This year’s ‘Rock am Ring‘ and ‘Rock im Park‘ festivals will take place in Nürburg and Nuremberg, Germany from June 02nd to 04th and also feature Rise Against, Limp Bizkit, Kings Of Leon and many more.
