Nandi Bushell & Shane Hawkins

Watch Nandi Bushell Jam Out Foo Fighters & Nirvana Songs With Taylor Hawkins’ Son Shane

As you’re likely aware, the young musical prodigies Nandi Bushell and Shane Hawkins are no stranger to the music of the Foo Fighters. Hawkins is the teenage son of the Foo Fighters‘ late drummer/vocalist Taylor Hawkins. Despite a ridiculously deep roster of legendary talent from all walks of the rock & roll world, it was Shane‘s time on drums alongside his father’s former bandmates that stole the show at the first of two tribute celebrations held for Taylor this past September.

12-year-old Nandi Bushell is no slouch herself, having partaken in a drum-off challenge against Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl, while also having shared the stage with the Foos themselves live on several occasions.

Both Nandi and Shane took part in the Foo Fighters‘ September 03rd send-off at Wembley Stadium for their beloved bandmate, and as it turns out, the duo also spent some time jamming out backstage. The multi-instrumentalists can be seen playing favorites from the Foo Fighters, Nirvana and more, while alternating between drums, guitar and bass.

Despite her young age, this isn’t even the first time Bushell has performed with the son of a famous rocker. She previously collaborated with Rage Against The Machine‘s Tom Morello and his son Roman on the track “The Children Will Rise Up“. That climate change awareness anthem managed to get a mention from former U.S. President Barack Obama.
