See The Red Hot Chili Peppers Perform “Black Summer” & “Can’t Stop” At 2022 ‘MTV Video Music Awards’


Multi-platinum Californian funk rock legends the Red Hot Chili Peppers took to the stage at tonight’s (August 28th) MTV Video Music Awards‘ ceremony. That event was held at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ.

In addition to being presented with the ‘Global Icon’ award (Cheech & Chong were recruited to present the award), the veteran chart-topping quartet also took to the stage for performances of “Black Summer” and “Can’t Stop“.

Upon being presented the aforementioned award, Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith dedicated his win to late Foo Fighters drummer/vocalist Taylor Hawkins and his family. Below you can watch the Chili Peppers‘ live performance at the awards ceremony.

October 14th will see the release of the group’s new double album “Return Of The Dream Canteen“, which will be their second studio offering to arrive this year. A music video for its lead single “Tippa My Tongue” can be found here.
