Jeremy Spencer (Psycho Synner, Ex-Five Finger Death Punch) Goes Death Metal With New Band Semi-Rotted, Taps Lorna Shore’s Will Ramos For New Single

Former Five Finger Death Punch drummer Jeremy Spencer is back with another new outfit, Semi-Rotted. Since departing the aforementioned multi-platinum hard rock band in 2018, Spencer has pursued several other ventures, including a stint in the softcore adult entertainment industry and fronting the divisive band Psychosexual, who would latter rebrand to Psycho Synner and release nine albums at once last November.

While Spencer and co. donned masks and makeup for the latter projects, Semi-Rotted instead finds him and his bandmates opting for a more traditional look. The fledgling outfit is inspired heavily by the ‘old school death metal’ Spencer cut his teeth on in his high school years. The lineup for the Las Vegas, NV-based band is completed by guitarist Shawn McGhee, bassist Alessandro “AP” Paveri (of Gemini Syndrome) and live drummer Steve Carey. Spencer himself got back behind the drum kit for this new effort in the studio.

Semi-Rotted‘s debut EP “Deader Than Dead” has just seen a release and is buoyed by the new single “Torture Congregation“, which features a guest spot from deathcore star Will Ramos, vocalist of Lorna Shore. A music video for it, and another single, “Shotgun Symphony“, are both available below.

Spencer said of teaming up with Ramos:

“I kept hearing Lorna Shore on Liquid Metal and on playlists. Will does really unique things with his voice. It’s amazing. When they were in Las Vegas, I went to the show, and I was blown away. We reached out, and Will sent back his vocal in like two days. He’s at the top of genre. It’s a killer collaboration.”

Speaking of the EP, Spencer added:

“When you listen to this, I hope you have a fun and solid listening experience. It’s meant to listen to from start-to-finish. Enjoy each moment. It kicks your ass, grabs you, and doesn’t let you go.”
