Cliff Burton, the late bassist/vocalist of thrash metal legends Metallica, will be getting a new statue via Knuckle Bonz in early 2023. The hand-crafted statute is currently in production and will be limited to 3,000 copies. A portion of the proceeds will go towards the Cliff Burton Music Scholarship Fund.
Prior to his 2020 passing, Cliff‘s father Ray saw to it that profits earned from Cliff‘s share of the royalties on Metallica‘s first three albums went to that scholarship fund at his son’s old high school. Pre-orders for the statue are available now through knucklebonz.com. Cliff tragically passed away in a bus crash at the age of 24 while on tour in Sweden back in 1986. He notably appeared and contributed to “Kill ‘Em All“, “Ride The Lightning” and “Master Of Puppets“.
