Pearl Jam‘s show last night (May 07th) at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, CA saw the band partake in a special tribute to late Foo Fighters drummer/vocalist Taylor Hawkins. The legendary grunge outfit took to covering the Foo Fighters‘ 2006 single “Cold Day In The Sun“. That single was a special one for Hawkins, as it saw him swap roles with vocalist/guitarist Dave Grohl.
In that spirit, Pearl Jam drummer Matt Cameron took on the vocal/guitar duties for this cover, with Mark Guiliana (Beat Music, David Bowie, etc.) sitting behind the drum kit. Chad Smith, drummer of funk rock institution the Red Hot Chili Peppers also took part, lending tambourine to the performance.
