Slipknot’s Corey Taylor On His Upcoming New Mask: “It’s Gonna Be Hard To Look At”

Slipknot have been opening up recently on the sessions that have been taking place for their seventh studio album in Los Angeles, CA lately. If you missed that, you can see what both frontman Corey Taylor and percussionist M. Shawn “Clown” Crahan had to say here and here respectively.

As is tradition for the band, each album cycle brings an overhaul of their masks and attire and this album looks to be no different. Speaking with Lazer 103.3, Taylor commented of his new mask:

“It’s important for it to be a reflection of who we are in that music. And I can tell you that the mask I’m working on is very disturbing. It’s gonna be hard to look at. And it’ll probably be my favorite mask that I’ve ever put together. It’s little bits and pieces of things that have intrigued me, of masks that I’ve had in the past. And it’s gonna have a devil-may-care kind of terror to it, let’s put it that way.”

This past April Taylor stated this his new mask is “gonna fucking scare kids.”
