Marilyn Manson‘s ex-wife Dita Von Teese has issued a statement in regards to the allegations of abuse made against her former husband by several women, including Manson‘s ex-fiancée, actress Evan Rachel Wood. Those allegations were made publicly earlier this week and ranged from sexual assault to mental abuse, you can read those statements here.
Manson himself has since denied the allegations made against him, describing them as “horrible distortions of reality.” Von Teese and Manson were together for 7 years, becoming engaged in late 2004 and married in November of 2005 until Von Teese filed for divorce in December of 2006.
In a statement shared yesterday, February 03rd, Von Teese offered:
“I have been processing the news that broke Monday regarding Marilyn Manson.
To those who have expressed your concern of my well-being, I appreciate your kindness.
Please know that the details made public do not match my personal experience during our 7 years together as a couple. Had they, I would not have married him in December 2005. I left 12 months later due to infidelity and drug abuse.
Abuse of any kind has no place in any relationship.
I urge those of you who have incurred abuse to take steps to heal and the strength to fully realize yourself.
This is my sole statement on this matter. Thank you for respecting this request.”
Since the accusations were publicly made against him earlier this week, Manson has has been dropped by his record label, Loma Vista Recordings, his talent agency CAA also cut times with him and he has been removed from both the ‘American Gods‘ and ‘Creepshow‘ TV series.
Additionally, California State Senator Susan Rubio has also urged the Acting Attorney General of the United States Monty Wilkinson and FBI director Christopher Wray to open an investigation into Manson over the accusations.
Now TMZ are reporting that police were called to Manson‘s home in the Hollywood Hills last night, February 03rd, to conduct a welfare check after being asked by an undisclosed individual, who apparently became concerned when they hadn’t heard from Manson this week.
While the report says Manson didn’t emerge, a representative for him told the police that ‘everything was fine and that Manson simply didn’t want to come out.’ Various photos of the police at Manson‘s residence can be found at TMZ.com.
