AC/DC Top The Billboard 200 With New Album “Power Up”


AC/DC‘s seventeenth studio album “Power Up” has debuted in the top spot on the Billboard 200 following its first week of availability in the United States. The group managed to shift some 117,000 equivalent album units during the that first week of release. The band sold 111,000 copies of the record (71,000 on CD / 23,000 digitally / 16,000 on vinyl), while streaming equivalent albums comprised 5,000 copies (roughly 7.8 million on-demand streams of songs from “Power Up“) and 1,000 via track equivalent album units. report that the last rock album to top those numbers was Tool‘s “Fear Inocolum“, which shifted some 248,000 units back in September of 2019. “Power Up” was released on November 13th and saw the band reunite with frontman Brian Johnson, bassist Cliff Williams and drummer Phil Rudd.
