Job For A Cowboy frontman Jonny Davy has confirmed that the band have recruited Navene Koperweis (Entheos, ex-Animals As Leaders) to handle the studio drumming on their forthcoming new album. The bulk of those sessions will take place in October/November with Jason Suecof (Trivium, All That Remains) producing. Koperweis‘ parts were laid down this past August.

Davy recently spoke to MetalSucks about that and the band’s forthcoming plans. In regards to how the new material will sound, he offered:

“We’re kind of looking at this as a sequel to ‘Sun Eater‘. The lyrical themes tie into the last record.”

“I would say this record is very similar to ‘Sun Eater‘ but we’re still trying to move the needle a bit, trying new things, kind of like we always have. I think that’s always been our motto, not to be stagnant and to just have fun with it, to try new things. I think everyone’s musical tastes changed a little bit over the years and our music kind of changes with it.”

Plans are being made for a tentative release in the first half of 2021 via Metal Blade with the band intending to do some limited touring in support of the record. You can read more from Davy on the group’s plans and why they’ve turned down anniversary tours for past releases over at MetalSucks.
