Brendan "Stu" Maguire

Bane Renew Calls For Crowdfunding Help With Bassist’s Cancer Battle

Crowdfunding remains underway for the medical bills of former Bane/Reach The Sky bassist/guitarist Brendan “Stu” Maguire. Maguire was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer last year which had spread to his liver. He has since been receiving aggressive treatment for it, including chemotherapy. As a thank you to fans Bane‘s final live set was filmed by Hate5six and will be released once the crowdfunding campaign for Maguire hits its $25,000 goal. You can donate over at this location.

Bane said of the situation earlier today, June 18th:

“In September 2019, Brendan Maguire of Bane was diagnosed with cancer. First round of chemotherapy happened and things looked good, and then things looked not so good… So, Stu has had to go back in for a second round of chemo and he’s been fighting the good fight since.

Sunny at has been in touch with us about releasing the final BANE show and came to us with the idea of putting it up as a benefit for Stu. There was no way we were going to turn that down and can’t thank him enough for doing this for him.

The entire LAST BANE SET will be released in full for free once we hit the goal.

This idea has been in the works for several months as a way to help Stu but we (Bane + hate5six) are sensitive to what’s going on regarding Black Lives Matter, unchecked police brutality and systemic racism against Black people. We encourage everyone to keep supporting organizations on the ground that need it. If you still have funds leftover and want to help this cause we invite you to do so!

100% of the funds will help Stu and his family.

This is not a drill.

Stand With Stu.
