Ozzy Osbourne Reveals He Was Initially Diagnosed With Parkinson’s Disease Back In 2003

When Ozzy Osbourne went public with his Parkinson’s disease diagnosis last month, it was thought that the discovery of the disease was a more recent affair. Ozzy himself would go on to tell ‘Good Morning America:

“…I had a bad fall, I had to have surgery on my neck, which screwed all my nerves up. And I found I have a mild form of… [Parkinson’s disease]”

His wife Sharon would go on to state that he had been diagnosed with PRKN 2, a form of the degenerative disorder. Ozzy himself would later add:

“I’m not good at secrets, I cannot walk around with it anymore ’cause it’s like I’m running out of excuses…. I feel better now of owning up to the fact that I have a case of Parkinson’s and I just hope they [his fans] hang in there for me, ’cause I need them.”

As it turns out, he might have been better at keeping secrets than he let on. In a new interview with the Los Angeles Times, Ozzy revealed that he was first diagnosed with the disease back in 2003. He commented of it:

“I’m not dying from Parkinson’s. I’ve been working with it most of my life. I’ve cheated death so many times. If tomorrow you read ‘Ozzy Osbourne never woke up this morning,’ you wouldn’t go, ‘Oh, my God!’ You’d go, ‘Well, it finally caught up with him.’”

Osbourne‘s new album “Ordinary Man” is a mere few days out with a February 21st release date having been set for it. Following a year of setbacks that saw him recover from serious injuries incurred in a fall, nerve damage from a resulting surgery and a battle with pneumonia prior to that, Osbourne aims to return to the road this spring with the below dates booked:
