Black Veil Brides Release New EP And Announce New Bassist

Black Veil Brides have announced the addition of bassist Lonny Eagleton to their ranks. He previously performed with the band’s frontman Andy Biersack as part of his Andy Black project. Eagleton replaces Ashley Purdy in the band, whom the group publicly parted ways with him earlier this month. Since parting ways, Purdy racked up a DUI arrest . Eagleton commented on his new role with the below statement:

In addition to a new member, the band have announced a series of two-song EPs they are referring to as ‘duologies’. The first of those, “The Night“, has newly been released via the band’s new label home of Sumerian Records. It features the tracks “Saints Of The Blood” and “The Vengeance“. Music videos for both can be found below. Speaking of these two new tracks, Biersack told

“With the feeling of nostalgia on this one, going back into the time when we were doing the re-record [of ‘We Stitch These Wounds‘], the idea was to add two songs that felt very much like the band that we were in the past and maybe strayed away from [and] return to that form.”

Regarding the band’s plans to move away from the traditional album format for the foreseeable future:

“Quite honestly, when you’ve been a band as long as we have and put out five full-length records, EPs and everything else, you want to do new stuff. I think this is a model that we’re really excited about, and moving forward, it’s a sustainable model that we can do, something that allows us to write songs together and release music, do music videos and artwork, bring it to people and say, ‘This is the new thing.’ And then half a year later, there’s another new thing.”
