Slash Confirms Guns N’ Roses Have Begun Working On New Material

Though apparently in its infancy stages, Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash has confirmed that work has indeed commenced on new material from the legendary outfit. Speaking with Meltdown of 101 WRIF, the guitarist spoke of the matter and why he has been evasive with past questions regarding new output from the band:

“The thing is, we haven’t really done anything yet, and I don’t like to say anything. You know how people used to promote shit and lie through their teeth? So I just wanted to be honest about it, and so there was really no telling what we were gonna do at that point. But at this point, I do know that we are gonna do this run [of shows in the fall], and we’ve already started working on stuff. So, there you go.”

After expressing his frustration with the rumors that have been circulating regarding the band’s progress, he later added: “I am excited about what we’ve got going on and everything, so it’s gonna be cool.” The group’s current fall touring plans thus far consist of a number of festival appearances, which include the following shows:

09/28 Louisville, KY – Louder Than Life
10/04 Austin, TX – Austin City Limits Music Festival
10/11 Austin, TX – Austin City Limits Music Festival
10/13 Manchester, TN – Exit 111 Festival
