Knocked Loose Speak On Upcoming Album: “We Wanted To Redefine Our Sound”

0

Knocked Loose recently gave fans a small taste of what they can expect when the group’s forthcoming album arrives later this year. That sample came in the form of the title track to their recent EP, “Mistakes Like Fractures“. In a new chat with Revolver, the band’s guitarist Isaac Hale spoke of the sessions that bore both the material on that EP and their new album. Producer Will Putney (Every Time I Die, Thy Art Is Murder) helmed those sessions with Hale saying of the long writing process to get there:

“We spent years writing songs, re-writing songs and ditching them. We probably scrapped an entire full-length before we arrived at the final product. That’s all because we wanted the best out of it. We were criticizing ourselves and second-guessing ourselves because we knew it had to be better.”

Speaking further about how the album sounds, he added:

“We wanted a faster record this time around, a record that has different facets. It’s not just a one-trick pony. There’re different types of songs on the record, but overall we wanted to redefine our sound. We wanted to keep the same mentality and the same idea, but just add way more to it.”

Those worried that the band will be heading in a softer direction after reading the above shouldn’t concern themselves too much it seems, as Hale later stated “Knocked Loose will always be a heavy band. That’s the entire point.”
