Ex-Slipknot Vocalist Anders Colsefni Says He Won’t Be Rejoining The Band

Ex-Slipknot vocalist/percussionist Anders Colsefni‘s name was thrown into the hat as a potential replacement for the recently ousted Chris Fehn by a fan on Twitter earlier this week . The band’s frontman Corey Taylor replied to the fan via Twitter, saying he would “LOVE that.” Colsefni himself has now responded via social media and said of the matter:

“Hello fellow Earthlings!

I’m going to take away the uncomfortable conversations that Slipknot might have regarding myself and reported band vacancy by saying: I will NOT be rejoining Slipknot.

It is certainly not for any animosity I have-I simply don’t know those guys anymore. I generally give those I don’t know the benefit of the doubt.I’ve spent the last 27 years (through each and every band) working concrete construction to support my family but still allow time for my “Real Job” lol.

After many years of failed bands, failed marriages, and plenty of others, I’ve settled into an occupation that I can retire from. I’m gonna need the bennies-my body is going to shit! Lol!

As much as I had dreamed of rejoining my creation (shut up- I know it’s a different band now!) it is not enough of a dream anymore to risk being homeless when the tour is over!

That being said, Painface is still working behind the scenes. Look for us sometime this year!”

If the band aren’t able to look to their past for a potential replacement for Fehn, perhaps they can look to their future. Several years back, the band’s percussionist M. Shawn “Clown” Crahan spoke of how he hoped his son Gage would one day replace him in the band. Back in 2012 Crahan stated:

“My oldest boy, when I do skip, he’s gonna take over my slot. He was sitting on the stair in diapers wearing my mask with sticks while we were downstairs trying to learn how to be a band. So when I leave, it won’t be like I died and my son came in and tried to fill my place. I’m gonna bail, but I’m gonna hand over the throne and say, ‘Hey, I can’t do it anymore. You do it. You’re my blood.'”

While it may not be what Clown originally had in mind, if Gage isn’t interested in the role, it appears that Crahan‘s son Simon has also been following in his dad’s footsteps:
