It Seems Like Slayer And Danzig Still Aren’t Friends After Reports Of Recent Festival Drama

Slayer and Danzig appear to once again be beefing, after some tension between the pair reportedly emerged via the the two outfits ‘Force Fest‘ appearances in Teotihuacan, Mexico last weekend. Due to the to rain on the Sunday, October 07th, date, a number of prominent acts were forced to cancel their performances, including Rob Zombie, Lamb Of God, Testament and Exodus.

This led to some scheduling changes which saw Danzig, who was originally booked to perform from 9:30 PM to 10:25 PM, moved into Rob Zombie‘s vacated spot at 09:00 PM to 10:15 PM. Slayer were then booked to perform from 10:25 PM to midnight. This didn’t come to pass though as Danzig eventually cancelled, citing the weather as the reason.

However, a since deleted post made by Bruce Miyaki, the manager of Glenn Danzig‘s Misfits bandmate Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein, who was also in attendance at the festival, painted a different picture. He commented:

Slayer pulled a total Dick move today !!! I’ve been a fan for 20+ years but when a band pulls a power trip and decide they want to play in Glenn’s slot and basically tell him play after us because we want to leave an hour early…. That’s FUCKING bullshit .. Glenn has a flight to catch tonight and can’t play an hour and a half later … Wow I lost all respect for those guys in Slayer…..#notcool”

Slayer & Danzig Drama

This is of course not the first time Slayer have show Danzig some disrespect. Notably Glenn Danzig performs with ex-Slayer drummer Dave Lombardo in the reunited incarnation of the Misfits. Slayer and Lombardo have had a complicated relationship over the years.
