Rage Against The Machine/Prophets Of Rage guitarist Tom Morello‘s cover of AC/DC‘s “Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap” has arrived online below. It is taken from a new compilation celebrating the 21st anniversary of Appleseed Recordings that is due out on October 19th. That comp has been dubbed ‘Appleseed 21st Anniversary: Roots And Branches‘ and will also feature various protest-themed music, including tracks from Bruce Springsteen, Joan Baez and more.
Jim Musselman, the founder and president of Appleseed, commented of Morello‘s cover:
“Tom is someone I deeply admire for his music and commitment to social justice. ‘Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap’ is a parody of the original song; Tom wrote it to reflect US foreign policy. It hits at the core of so many things our country is dealing with.
