Arsis Set November Release For New Album “Visitant”, Debut “Tricking The Gods” Music Video

November 02nd will see the release of Arsis‘ new album “Visitant“, which will be out on Nuclear Blast/Agonia Records. A music video directed by Rob Neilson for the first single, “Tricking The Gods“, has premiered from it below while pre-orders have been made available at

Some of the sessions for the album were recorded at MRL Studios in Nashville, TN with producer Mark Lewis (Cannibal Corpse, DevilDriver), while the band themselves oversaw other sessions. Lewis did take on the mixing and mastering duties himself however. As for the lyrical content on the album, the band’s vocalist/guitarist James Malone commented:

“‘Visitant‘ is like an old-time word for ghost or apparition. All the lyrics are inspired by a different horror movie. I wanted a title that would allude to that but not give things—what I’m actually saying—away flat out. When I say inspired by, it’s very loose. People still have room to draw their own interpretations of what the lyrics are about.

But they were inspired by horror movies. Like ‘80s horror movies. ‘Silver Bullet‘, for example, which is based off Stephen King’s ‘Cycle of the Werewolf‘, is a favorite. I love that movie. I’ll also name drop ‘The Fog‘, ‘Prince of Darkness‘, and ‘Lord of Illusions‘. There’s a supernatural element to the lyrics for sure.”

It was also revealed that this latest single “Tricking The Gods” took inspiration from ‘Silver Bullet‘, the song “Funereal Might” was inspired by the ‘Phantasm‘ series, “Dead Is Better” took inspiration from ‘Pet Semetary‘ and “Unto The Knife” is a nod to ‘Prince Of Darkness‘.

A North American tour in support of the album with Decrepit Birth, Pyrexia and more has already been announced and dates for it can be found here.
