Izzy Stradlin Comments On His Absence From Guns N’ Roses’ ‘Reunion’ Touring

The Wall Street Journal have penned a piece on the continued absence of former Guns N’ Roses guitarist Izzy Stradlin from the band’s wildly successful reunion touring. Stradlin played a crucial part in the songwriting of the band’s early years before exiting in 1991. While profiling his activities in the time since, the publication managed to get word from the man himself, who issued the below brief statement:

“The current GNR tour has been a great success for the guys. My nonparticipation was simply not being able to reach a happy middle ground through the negotiation process. That’s life, sometimes things don’t work out.”

The publication also reached out to Guns N’ Roses‘ manager Fernando Lebeis regarding the negotiation process mentioned above, he declined to comment on the matter, though described Stradlin as being a “dear friend.” Guns n’ Roses of course reunited with former members Slash & Duff McKagan in 2016 and have been touring extensively since.
