Megadeth vocalist/guitarist Dave Mustaine made some comments of interest via his Twitter account this week regarding a number of topics. Responding to various fans questions, he spoke on his hopes to once again tour as ‘The Big Four’ (Metallica, Slayer, Anthrax and of course Megadeth) before Slayer retire—or even a bill without Metallica.
Some of his responses on that can be found below and shed a light on some of the tension he still has with Metallica and why the tour isn’t happening yet.
Maybe you were sleeping when everyone else on the planet heard that @slayer is retiring, and @metallica doesn’t want to do it. https://t.co/l21y7yXV6V

Watch the Big4 DVD where Kirk says it’s the Big 1. That saddened a lot of people. I was one of them. https://t.co/uUuxI8PJ5c

Ask them. All kidding aside, all I know is when @slayer finally retires, the real Big 4 is over. https://t.co/fqi7TA2UEB

He also spoke of the legal dispute over songwriting credits which shelved Metallica‘s planned expanded re-release of “No Life ‘Til Leather“. Mustaine of course was an early member of Metallica prior to being ousted for substance abuse problems. Panic, if you’re unaware, was Mustaine‘s first band.
Who knows. I ain’t giving my songwriting credit to Lars for songs I wrote in Panic. https://t.co/X2Q6oOX9FL
